Sen. Fetterman Has Had Enough
Listen tothis article
Senator John Fetterman (PA) is going on the offensive against the Left, most notably Senator Bernie Sanders (VT), for defending Graham Platner, the Democrat nominee for Maine’s U.S. Senate seat – the one with the Nazi tattoo who has been accused of abusive behavior toward women, including a horrific assault.
As Fetterman sees it, Platner’s political aspirations are DOA, and Bernie Sanders needs to “apologize” for supporting a “predator.”
As reported by The Hill:
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said late Monday that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and other prominent progressive voices in the Democratic Party should “apologize” for championing Graham Platner’s Senate candidacy in Maine, calling Platner a “predator.”
“I would really call Bernie Sanders to apologize for pushing this kind of predator more than anyone he helped,” Fetterman told Fox News host Laura Ingraham in an interview.
“So I don’t know why you want to keep pushing these kinds of people,” Fetterman added.
Fetterman suggested that Sanders should take a break from endorsing candidates, given how things are turning out in Maine.
“Maybe he should consider sit a few out and stop pushing these kinds of communists and people,” he said, adding that Platner has “been credibly accused of rape.”
Fetterman argued that Platner was “a dead man walking, politically,” after The New York Times in early June reported allegations of Platner acting abusively toward Lyndsey Fifield, a woman he previously dated.
Asked about the willingness of other Democratic senators to look past allegations that were made against Platner in early June, Fetterman said he wasn’t willing to overlook the claims of women who described “toxic” and volatile relationships with Platner.
“Yeah, I mean, I refuse to overlook that,” Fetterman said.
Eventually, Sanders apologized and called on Platner to drop out. No specific mention of the Nazi tattoo or the assault accusation. Sanders simply said, “In light of these very serious allegations, I have recommended that he step aside.”
At least one far-Left Congressman was willing to say Platner shouldn’t be the nominee. But then, Fetterman has been on the fringe of his party for many years now, specifically since the October 7 attack.
Now you have these extreme Democrat Socialist candidates running against more establishment Leftists, and not only running, but winning, and it threatens to change the entire party into something unrecognizable.
Graham Platner has had a litany of issues, and at last, it seems like this latest round of allegations has been the final straw, even for Leftists. And it appears that Platner himself sees the writing on the wall. He has suspended all his campaign events as he seeks to determine the best path forward. That is typically the type of language you hear before someone drops out of the race.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more analysis of these latest accusations against Graham Platner, Sen. Fetterman’s rebuke of his colleagues for supporting the controversial candidate, and where the party goes from here.
