Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and the Trump Administration just warned Iran of a “massive final blow” if it does not make a deal with President Donald Trump to end the war soon.

We’re only a few weeks into the Iranian conflict, and from the very beginning President Trump has said this was not planned to be a long-term effort, but more likely to be just weeks.

This news certainly makes it at least sound like an end is in sight, and that it’s not far off.

As reported by The Independent:

The Pentagon is preparing scenarios for “a massive final blow” in Iran, as President Donald Trump warned the country to make a deal to end the war “before it’s too late.”

Trump could choose from four proposals, including the use of troops on the ground and a possible invasion of Kharg Island, a vital component of Iran’s oil network, according to Axios.

The options, described as “hypothetical” by White House officials, come as Trump claimed Iranian negotiators are “begging” the U.S. to end the conflict despite Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, declaring on state television that the country does not plan on holding “any negotiations.”

In the four proposals being drawn up for Trump by the Pentagon, the president could reportedly choose to invade or blockade Kharg Island; invade the island of Larak, which helps Iran to control the Strait of Hormuz; seize the island of Abu Musa and two Iranian-controlled smaller islands which are also located near the strait; or block and seize ships exporting Iranian oil, U.S. officials with knowledge of the plans told Axios.

Plans for ground operations to secure enriched uranium within Iran’s nuclear facilities have also been prepared by the U.S. military, along with an alternative proposal to carry out a large-scale air strike on the facilities that would not require boots on the ground, according to the outlet.

Trump has not yet made a decision on any of the options, but the president is “ready to escalate” if negotiations with Iran do not progress soon, the officials told Axios.

We’re coming up on the end of the fourth week of this military action, and the White House is already telling us that the Pentagon is preparing for a massive blow to the Iranian regime –  a finishing move to bring an end to this conflict. Then it will pull out troops.

Obviously, that’s putting way too fine a point on the reality of the situation. Surely there will be things that must continue, including negotiations with the Iranians and maintaining order while the Iranian people figure out what to do next. We do not want another Afghanistan where President Biden pulled the military way too soon, and way too quickly, leaving the region in chaos and allowing the Taliban to once again seize control. But Operation Epic Fury was never meant to be another Afghanistan or Iraq.

And I think what you’re seeing is the Trump Administration being transparent.

Obviously, there’s a legitimate debate about whether there will be a deal at all. You’ve got the White House on one side and Iran on the other, and they both seem to be telling different stories about where the negotiations currently stand. But we now know the Pentagon is already prepared with multiple options to hammer down on Iran and end this war.

President Trump himself took to Truth Social and made it clear that the window is swiftly shutting, posting: “They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK.”

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more analysis of  Sec. Hegseth’s announcement of one more “final blow” to end the conflict in Iran, and whether that looming threat will be enough to coerce Iran to agree to a deal.
