President Trump Reveals Massive New Deal to Putin

President Donald Trump presented a massive 28-point plan to Russian President Vladimir Putin – but the question looms: Will both Putin and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy agree to the terms? We may know very soon, as American officials have already arrived in Ukraine to present the deal.
As reported by CNN:
The Trump administration has been quietly hammering out a new peace plan with Russia to end its war with Ukraine, a person familiar with the talks told CNN.
The president’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, who has been at the center of the administration’s talks with Moscow, has been leading the effort, the source said. The negotiations accelerated this week as the administration feels the Kremlin has signaled a renewed openness to a deal, the source added.
Army Secretary Dan Driscoll and a top-level Pentagon delegation arrived this morning in Ukraine “on a fact finding mission to meet with Ukrainian officials and discuss efforts to end the war,” Army Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler said in a statement.
The mission, at the direction of the president, was part of the White House effort to resuscitate peace talks, according to a separate source who is a US official.
The U.S. now has an actual road map to end the war. And it is an interesting one. President Trump and his team, including businessman Steve Witkoff, have been workshopping this with both Ukrainian and Russian leadership, and an American envoy has reportedly already headed to the region.
At the center of the proposal: an immediate U.S.-monitored ceasefire, which, of course, without it, seems like the whole deal would be a nonstarter. Under the plan, Ukraine would cede control of the Donbas region, but it wouldn’t have to recognize it as permanently lost.
President Trump spoke about this during the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum, right after meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Love or hate his style, President Trump isn’t afraid to deal with world leaders that most American Presidents can’t even get in the same room with, and as we’ve seen, some would refuse to, even if they could. Kings, strongmen, dictators – Trump certainly has decades of experience in knowing how to navigate those personalities.
And so far, his success record speaks for itself. As does the President himself, who reminded the world of the eight conflicts he’s helped bring to an end, and expressed his hope that this would be the ninth, stating:
[W]e’re also making history and forging peace. And I’ve settled eight raging conflicts, eight wars. I’ve settled eight wars. I have one to go. . . . I thought that was going to be my easy one because I have a good relationship with President Putin, but I’m a little disappointed in President Putin right now. He knows that. I thought this was going to be the easy one.
Ukraine’s response will be crucial. President Zelenskyy has never wanted to give up land – and understandably so. But after years of devastation, global fatigue, and little movement, this may be the first realistic path to peace anyone has put on the table.
I’ll be honest, I think the plan is a smart proposal and could serve to end this fight. Obviously, it’s not perfect, and nothing is guaranteed unless both sides agree and actually adhere to it. But at the very least, it’s the most serious and potentially plausible attempt to end this grinding war that has reshaped global politics and drained American attention and resources for years.
