Massive Coordinated FBI Raid Underway in Minnesota
Listen tothis article
The Department of Homeland Security announced that it is officially executing search warrants in Minneapolis in response to rampant fraud involving taxpayer dollars that seems to have taken place right under Governor Tim Walz’s nose.
Federal agents and local law enforcement raided 22 local so-called childcare centers, including the now infamous Somali Quality “Learing” Center. It just so happens these raids are happening on the same day that Governor Walz is set to deliver his State of the State address. It should be interesting to see if Walz addresses the raids.
As reported by the New York Post:
The FBI raided the infamous ‘Quality Learing Center’ and more than 20 other businesses across Minnesota on Tuesday as part of a massive investigation into multi-billion dollar social services fraud.
The raids were focused on prominent businesses tied to the Somali-American community, sources told The Post.
“Today the FBI with federal, state and local law enforcement is involved in court-authorized law enforcement activity as part of an ongoing fraud investigation,” a Justice Department official told The Post. . . .
President Trump announced a “war on fraud” in his February State of the Union address and put Vice President JD Vance in charge of a task force leading the effort.
The focus on fraud in Minnesota has largely been pandemic-era feeding programs and autism support services that fleeced taxpayers.
The Justice Department since September has indicted seven alleged fraudsters who allegedly recruited members of the Somali community to enroll children in fake autism services, raking in $14 million. One defendant has pleaded guilty.
Just when Tim Walz thought maybe the story of rampant fraud that’s been quietly siphoning tax dollars from his state might have finally died down, it’s back with a vengeance.
Even I was starting to wonder if anything would ever be done about it. After all, not so long ago, it seemed like we couldn’t stop reporting on Minnesota and all the news coming out of the North Star State. Whether it was the fraud being exposed, the ICE arrests and protests, or Don Lemon and a group of aggressive activists invading a church, it felt like Minnesota was the top story for weeks.
For a while we heard politicians speaking out against the fraud (and, curiously, a few speaking out against those who exposed it), and even President Trump tasked Vice President JD Vance with leading the investigation and shutting down the fraud. And then things more or less went quiet.
As we all know, the wheels of justice don’t always turn quickly. Steps must be followed. The FBI needed to obtain search warrants to conduct these raids. Now, hopefully, they will be able to obtain evidence to bring charges against the individuals behind the corruption and fraud.
But now we have some real updates, and we can see with our own eyes that this fraud situation was not forgotten, as federal agents were conducting massive raids. This is a coordinated investigation between the FBI, Homeland Security, and local authorities in Minnesota, targeting businesses that were clearly fraudulent or at least alleged to be fraudulent.
We have seen footage of federal agents going in and out of these faux childcare centers and schools for most of the morning. They are likely seizing documents, computers, and other items that might contain information that could be used as evidence in a fraud investigation. This is a surprising and, quite honestly, a welcome update in the Minnesota fraud situation. Maybe we’ll start to see some accountability.
And now that we’re seeing action in Minnesota, we hope to start seeing movement in states like California, where more massive fraud has been exposed. We will continue to monitor these investigations closely and keep you updated. And we will be paying close attention to Governor Walz’s speech tonight.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more discussion of the FBI raids in Minnesota and what it could mean for other states. We also provided an update on our clients – two Christian brothers – on death row in Pakistan because of their faith.
