Details are flooding in about how the FBI prevented an attack at the White House’s UFC Freedom 250 event.

Five individuals are in custody, and 23 individuals have been identified as participants in what appears to have been a plot not only against the President but against “billionaires” and politicians who support Israel.

As reported by Fox News:

The FBI and its law enforcement partners disrupted an alleged plot targeting this weekend’s UFC Freedom 250 event in Washington, D.C., officials told Fox News Digital.

Five people were in custody as of Monday, and investigators identified 23 people as part of a potential network of plotters. The alleged plan involved using explosive-laden drones to hit buildings near the event, force a mass evacuation and steer crowds toward a pre-staged sniper team, officials said.

A “second wave” was then allegedly planned to storm the White House gate, according to officials.

The FBI first learned of the threat on June 10 and worked with partners to secure probable cause for an arrest in Cincinnati, where one suspect was taken into custody. Court documents identified the suspect as Tycen Proper. . . .

Two others, identified as Bryan Omar Roa and Michael Alan Thomas, were arrested in California for alleged involvement in the plot. Both men were charged with conspiracy to commit murder. They appeared in court on Monday in Riverside. . . .

The U.S. Secret Service said it “worked closely” with the FBI during the investigation.

“In the days leading up to this weekend, our special agents, mission support personnel, and technical security teams worked around the clock to identify those responsible and hold them accountable,” Secret Service Director Sean Curran said in a statement. “Equally important to our protective mission is ensuring accountability through the justice system. To that end, our formal comments regarding the specifics of this case will be made through court filings.”

Investigators later uncovered Signal chats in which multiple people allegedly discussed attacking the UFC event. An initial review of one suspect’s iPhone identified at least 23 Signal users discussing pre-operational activity, officials said. . . .

One suspect allegedly told investigators the goal was to target “capitalist elites,” “billionaires” or politicians who received donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

At this stage, I think we should just assume that these kinds of threats are being dealt with continually at the White House, but this one seemed to be much more specific, with many specific reasons. In this case, it sounds like the would-be domestic terrorists fancied themselves some form of socialist vigilante group taking down the rich and powerful. Fortunately, they failed.

The good news is that nobody was hurt, and the UFC Freedom 250 event went off without a hitch. It was safe. It was secure. But the threat was real and multi-pronged. FBI Director Kash Patel said that on June 10, the FBI became aware of a potential threat to the UFC America 250 event, and the threat was “stopped cold.”

The plan was to launch explosive drones at buildings near the White House, causing panic, including people rushing out in a chaotic, mass evacuation of the area. Attendees attempting to flee the scene would be picked off by sniper fire as they rushed through evacuation routes.

Clearly, this was intended to be a sinister attack with mass casualties. There have also been reports that they may have planned a second-wave assault that involved storming the White House.

The dangerous rhetoric of the radical Left has become so normalized that it’s radicalizing people to do some very lethal things. In fact, to be blunt, I always get concerned when this sort of information is released because it may inspire copycats. It’s pure evil.

And it’s making many people hesitant about attending large public events like this. This is where we are right now, sadly, in society. Thankfully, in this instance, the good guys prevailed and stopped the attack before it could even start.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more discussion of the thwarted attack plan and the motivations we’re hearing from those the FBI has in custody. We were also joined by the head of ACLJ Jerusalem, Jeff Ballabon, to discuss a new victory at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals against an anti-Israel U.N. official after “consideration” of the ACLJ’s amicus brief in the case.
