Day 1 Impeachment Filing
Listen tothis article
In a case of “here we go again,” a cabal of radical Leftists in the House of Representatives is already planning to impeach President Donald Trump AGAIN if they win the House in the 2026 midterms.
Does the Left really think the American people want to sit through yet another impeachment proceeding?
As reported by Axios:
A cohort of resistance-minded House Democrats is pushing their colleagues to begin building the case against President Trump now in anticipation of a Day 1 impeachment vote if they retake the House.
Why it matters: The mere existence of this movement demonstrates just how much pressure lawmakers who have not yet gotten on board with impeachment will face in January of 2027.
“This is something that I keep saying to our leadership ... we need to have a very concrete, coordinated strategy,” Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.) told Axios.
The Illinois Democrat said the party should “build up the case so that when we are in power in January, we’ve created the conditions ... we’ve done the fact-checking, we’ve done the shadow hearings, everything we need to be able to impeach [Trump].”
Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-Ariz.) told Axios that if Democrats recapture the House “the push for impeachment is going to be overwhelming.”
There was a time when impeachments were very rare and only brought up under extreme circumstances. In recent years, it feels like the Left starts talking about impeachments every other Tuesday. And here we are, hearing House Democrats admit they’re already getting their case together now, including potentially holding “shadow hearings” – likely meaning informal hearings held off Capitol Hill – so they can begin the process to impeach President Trump as quickly as possible, should they take back the House in November.
That’s their top priority. Not to introduce new legislation that could actually benefit the American people. Not representing the needs of their constituents. The primary focus of these congressional Representatives is to push their personal grudge against President Trump – wasting taxpayer dollars and resources – just to try to finally finish the witch hunt they have been pursuing for over a decade now.
Not that this is all that surprising. We’ve been expecting this. It’s likely they’ll use the military action in Iran – which the Left likes to refer to as “Trump’s illegal war” and abuse of power, despite the President acting well within his presidential power.
That is the desperate side of politics today. I can’t imagine anyone wants to endure yet another impeachment trial from the Left – apart from the Left themselves. It gives them ample TV time to deliver their anti-Trump rhetoric and look like they’re out there fighting – fulfilling their campaign promises. But will they be?
The last time they tried this, they failed. The impeachment was essentially unsuccessful. The Left was unable to remove President Trump from office, which is their end goal. Admittedly, this time we could have a very different lay of the land after the midterms.
Regardless, impeachment proceedings put a lot of strain on the federal government, and more importantly, they put strain on the American people. There are miles of red tape. Political tensions rise. The government slows down. It is not a healthy process for our country.
But as November approaches, this will certainly give some campaigns a renewed energy. Now candidates on the Left have got a new promise to run on – Elect me so we can go get him! That will surely activate the extreme anti-Trump base. Forget about promising to shut down all the corruption and fraud we’re seeing across the country. On Day 1, we impeach Trump. That’s it. That’s the plan.
It seems like a huge waste of time, money, and resources – and an insult to working Americans who need relief and not a case of deja vu – and in the end, I don’t think they’ll be able to accomplish what they want. But as we know, that’s never stopped them before.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more discussion of House Democrats’ plan to start building their impeachment case now, more than six months before the November midterms.
