In the wake of President Trump’s visit to meet with Xi Jinping, a California mayor just got EXPOSED for being a Chinese spy. Eileen Wang, the mayor of Arcadia, admitted to working on behalf of the People’s Republic of China to promote Chinese propaganda in the United States.

According to the official statement from the U.S. State’s Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California:

The mayor of Arcadia has been charged in federal court with acting as an illegal agent of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the Justice Department announced today.

Eileen Wang, 58, of Arcadia, is charged via information with one count of acting in the United States as an illegal agent of a foreign government.

In a related filing, Wang has agreed to plead guilty to the felony count, which comes with a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.

She is expected to make her initial appearance this afternoon in United States District Court in downtown Los Angeles. Wang is expected to plead guilty in the coming weeks.

Wang was elected in November 2022 to the Arcadia City Council, a five-person governing body from which the mayor is selected on a rotating basis. . . .

“By her own admission, Eileen Wang secretly served the interests of the Chinese government,” said Assistant Director Roman Rozhavsky of the FBI’s Counterintelligence and Espionage Division. “Let this serve as a clear warning: Individuals who act on behalf of foreign governments to influence our democracy will be identified, investigated, and brought to justice. Protecting the rule of law and the transparency of our democratic process remains at the core of the FBI’s mission, and we will continue working alongside our partners to safeguard the integrity of our elections and keep hostile actors from undermining the voices of the American people.”

“All Americans should be alarmed to learn an elected official was brazenly spreading propaganda on behalf of the Chinese government,” said Patrick Grandy, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office. “The FBI is dedicated to rooting out those illegally acting as agents of a foreign government as they do the bidding of America’s adversaries.”

Very few things shock or surprise me these days, but this story is a wild one. China seems determined to gain power and influence over the United States, even infiltrating our political offices to gain access and information – and spread Chinese propaganda.

Years ago, we told you how the now disgraced former Congressman Eric Swalwell (CA-14) was accused of granting a Chinese spy access to his office and classified information. Now it looks like China is installing its spies directly into political positions.

As President Trump is headed to China for what is being called a high-stakes summit that we keep hearing could be a very big leap in our relationship with China, a mayor of a Southern California city will reportedly plead guilty to spying for China. Again, this isn’t a conspiracy theory.

By her own admission, Wang secretly served the interests of the Chinese government while masquerading as a U.S. public servant. Before being elected mayor, Wang sat on the city council. Now she is pleading guilty to charges of being a foreign agent.

The Chinese government was directing her actions, going back at least to 2020. In one recorded group chat conversation, Wang responded to directions with “Thank you leader.” It sounds like a scene in a ’50s spy film, but it happened this decade. And it’s worth noting that 2020 kicked off a time when China was in desperate need of damage control for its global image. Wang, it appears, was committed to working the PR machine for her true leaders.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more discussion of the California mayor’s confession to acting as a spy on behalf of China, and what charges she will be facing now, as well as how much influence the Chinese government may hold over American politics.
