Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth Prepares for War
Listen tothis article
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth asserted that Iran must agree to not having a nuclear weapon in its negotiations with President Donald Trump – or military action will be used.
The first face-to-face talks lasted about 45 minutes, and round two of negotiations is on the horizon in Rome.
Of course, Hegseth can’t ever fully rule out war with a foreign adversary. However, he was clear that President Trump prefers an agreement in peaceful talks rather than a battlefield: “He’s dead serious that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. . . . He’s dead serious that he wants it done at the negotiating table; he wants it done peacefully, and that’s why he’s going straight to these talks. He’s set that deadline.”
Hegseth’s warning completely reverses the previous Administration’s stance on Iran. Did anyone believe the Biden DOD would take military action if Iran got closer to a nuclear weapon? Of course not, especially when you factor in the billions of dollars that Biden gifted the largest state sponsor of terror in the world.
And because the Biden Administration forked over billions to Iran, it was able to fund proxies like Hezbollah and the Houthis to wreak havoc in the Middle East. And most significantly, Iran backed Hamas’ murderous October 7 attack on Israel.
And that’s one reason that President Trump sent airstrikes against the Houthi rebels. Hegseth stated: “What we’re doing with the Houthis and what we’re doing in the region, we’ve shown a capability to go far, to go deep, and to go big. And again, we don’t want to [use military action], but if we have to, we will to prevent the nuclear bomb in Iran.” The Trump Administration is sending a clear message to Iran.
ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell reacted to the Trump Administration’s negotiations with Iran:
I want to talk as much as we can, and sitting down and having Steve Witkoff look the Iranians in the eye and have these discussions is fantastic. We have to remember that the Iranians are a country where the government lies about what they have in terms of nuclear programs. They outmaneuvered John Kerry when talking about heavy water, when they’re talking about the number of centrifuges. John Kerry went public saying that they got rid of all their centrifuges, and that just wasn’t true. We have to remember that people like Wendy Sherman have been duped by the Iranians. We in the Trump Administration need to make sure that we are very clear-eyed about who we’re negotiating with, and we need to verify. You need to almost verify first before you trust them.
We will keep you updated on the ongoing negotiation talks between the U.S. and Iran.
The ACLJ also just covered a huge Freedom of Information Access (FOIA) request bombshell against the DOD also stemming from the Biden Administration. Remember how the U.S. Army, under the Biden Administration, labeled our client, Operation Rescue, pro-life sidewalk counselors, and anyone with a “Choose Life” license plate as domestic terrorists in a terror training session at Fort Bragg? We sent a legal letter demanding an apology and a FOIA request, demanding the records of the official Army training materials.
We told you last month about the first round of records we received from the Army, which included the full slide deck used in the presentation. As we said then, “The full presentation reinforces that Biden’s DOD was training soldiers to view pro-life organizations and citizens as equal to Islamic terrorists.”
The latest batch of documents we received reveals a shocking cover-up to deceive the American public, especially pro-lifers. The investigation report concluded that “Labelling the slide ‘Terrorist Groups’ was a mistake,” instead of recognizing that pro-lifers should never have been included in the “Terrorism Awareness” presentation in the first place.
This is far more egregious than simply stating that the title of one slide was a “mistake,” as the entire training was about terrorism. Further, the conclusion that the labeling of that slide was a “mistake” is unsupported by a shred of evidence in the investigation file. The attempt to brush this under the rug is glaring. Also included in the batch of documents are sworn testimonies of soldiers that further prove the cover-up.
We are preparing a letter to Secretary Hegseth, urging him to hold the Army accountable by taking swift action to get to the bottom of this despicable military training and never let it happen again. We will keep you updated on further developments.
