FBI Obtained Bank Records Flagging Conservatives’ “MAGA” & “Trump” Purchases

House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan exposed the FBI for targeting conservatives’ bank statements that had purchases labeled “MAGA” or “Trump” or came from stores like the Bass Pro Shop. The FBI even went so far as to screen Bible purchases. When will the Deep State FBI stop violating the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens?

Fox News reports on what the House Judiciary Committee uncovered:

Federal investigators asked banks to search and filter customer transactions by using terms like “MAGA” and “Trump” as part of an investigation into Jan. 6, warning that purchases of “religious texts” could indicate “extremism,” the House Judiciary Committee revealed Wednesday in a letter obtained by Fox News Digital.

Fox News Digital has learned the committee also obtained documents that indicate officials suggested that banks query transactions with keywords like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops and more.

I was just at Dick’s Sporting Goods last week getting baseball equipment for my son. I guess the FBI could be collecting my information now too. It’s absurd and atrocious.

Also, let me emphasize this outrageous line from the congressional report: Those who “purchased religious texts like a bible, may also have had their transactions flagged.” So, folks, if you buy a Bible, you’re a threat to democracy and will be put on an extremist list.

As you know, the FBI was recently exposed for using undercover agents in churches to keep tabs on Christians. Though FBI Director Christopher Wray tried to downplay the severity of the targeting, we yet again have evidence the Deep State is waging war against people of faith.

We have ongoing FOIA lawsuits to root out the Biden Administration’s attacks on religious liberty. For example, our FOIA recently uncovered that the FBI had over 1,200 pages of documents related to targeting “radical traditionalist” Christians. And another one of our FOIAs uncovered “26,000 Pages of IRS Documents About the “Word of God,” 50,000 About ‘Prayer.’” Now we plan to file more FOIAs due to this latest bombshell. FBI Director Wray must come clean about what’s going on in his organization.

Another aspect of this report that troubles me is that it appears that the financial institutions went right along with the FBI’s unconstitutional orders. Did they not think that turning over private bank statements based solely on religious texts, political memorabilia, or sporting goods purchases was outrageous? But I guess they’re all intimidated by the FBI, just like the Big Tech companies were during the 2020 election.

Timing is of the essence because Super Tuesday is March 5, and we don’t want Secretaries of State removing President Trump from the state primary ballots – such removals would be grossly unconstitutional and a direct attack on the voting rights of all Americans.

UPDATE 01.22.2024: The ACLJ has submitted two Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to the FBI and the Treasury Department to get to the bottom of this unconstitutional targeting of conservatives. We will likely be headed to federal court if the Biden agencies refuse to comply.
